We are looking forward to our first sweet corn of the season and hope you are as well! However, this year has been challenging. At our farm where the sweet corn is, there is a creek next to it and the field is typically a little wet in the spring. By early summer, the field dries and we can grow crops pretty easily. This year, if you remember, it was very wet. May 12 was our first planting, which would have put us in harvest by mid July. Then we planted our next round on June 6. However, with all the rain we received, both these plantings drowned. More was planted on June 26 and July 23. Both those plantings are doing well and should produce some very tasty corn, so be on the lookout for us in early September.
We are growing two corns this year. First is the one we grew last year that is a white that is very sweet and delicious. It is called Devotion. In addition, due to many requests, we are raising a bicolor corn called Anthem. Both of these will be available in early September. Please be on the lookout on our Facebook page and other social media sites.
Moreover, we have some popcorn still in stock, so check our website to place your order now! Thank you and we are looking forward to seeing you!
